A vehicle-for-hire is a service in which transportation is provided to passengers who choose the origin and destination of their ride,
for some agreed-upon fare, e.g., a taxicab service. A vehicle-for-hire service is trusted if the passenger cannot get to the destination by the transportation service without paying, while the driver cannot get paid without taking the passenger to the desired location.
The service provides location privacy if the origin and destination of the ride are not revealed to anyone other than the driver.
Anonymity means that the driver and the passenger do not need to reveal their identity to each other.
Can a vehicle-for-hire service provide all three—trust, location privacy and anonymity?
We built that by using blockchain and smart contracts.
Our system, cryptotrasnport—where transportation is enhanced by cryptography and blockchain—can provide transport services with greater anonymity, privacy and trust than the common transport services.
By using blockchain technology, cryptotransport matches customers with taxicabs (or other vehicles for hire) in a decentralized fashion,
without relying on any company or organization to manage the system. more
