Fusion Farms in Puerto Rico is a new startup that combines hurricane-protected, indoor, high-tech aquaculture and vertical hydroponic farming in Controlled Environment Aquaponic ("CEA") Facilities.
Fusion Farms creates a solution for the island of Puerto Rico and for its communities that face environmental, climate and economic challenges using modern farming in an off-grid, sustainable Closed Environment Aquaponics (“CEA”) facility using vertical farming systems that use 1/10th of the water compared to traditional farming techniques.
Fusion Farms (“FF”) combines elements of hydroponics, aquaculture and renewable energy in a fully contained and controlled environment. Sustainable Closed Environment Aquaponics (“CEA”) provides a unique combination of technologies and agriculture for the production of a variety of food products, as well as fish, in a CEA facility. Extensive scientific research on closed-loop aquaponic ecosystems has paved the way for repeatable, scalable food production, which represents an innovative advance in the way food supplies will be grown in the future.
Fusion Farms has leased a building from the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Corporation ("PRIDCO") which was approved on September 26, 2018. The application has been converted to a signed lease agreement to lease 11,500 square feet of a fully concrete, hurricane-protected industrial warehouse space we are currently 20% completed construction to renovate this to an off-grid Controlled Environment Aquaponics facility in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
We have prepared our Feasibility Study and we have developed our Design & Facility Layout, our Crop List, our Yield Projections, our Pricing Model, our Distribution Model, our Staffing Plan, our Construction Project Plan, and we have commenced acquisition of our detailed Materials List and Sourcing Plan to complete our Timeline.
We have drafted our initial 3D Design for the property, so please see the video to the right which provides a visual rendering of the proposed construction and layout. more
