LV networks are and will increasingly be hosting renewable energy sources, storage and electric vehicles charging stations. This new role is key for energy transition. However, in most European countries, LV networks are poorly monitored and their structure only partially documented, even though they account for 60% of distributions networks assets.
Odit-e develops innovative solutions for LV networks operation and planning: by digitalizing LV networks, Odit-e enable operation optimization, losses reduction, or impact prediction for renewable productions or demand response.
Odit-e stands out for its combination of a solid business knowledge, with more than 60 years of cumulative experience in electrical distribution markets, as well as a mastery of the most advanced machine learning and data analysis techniques.
Odit-e’s first activity consists in renting a measurement center, connected to a cloud, that provides all the information collected in the MV/LV substation in "SaaS" mode. This offer has already made it possible to detect network imbalance issues due to photovoltaic generation, to accurately locate unbilled energy, or to estimate the voltage drops at the end of the line that was not detected by classical methods. These problems are just a few example of all those we identified thanks to our innovative methods applied to worldwide DSOs.
However, the use of these sensors has a significant human and economic costs. Therefore, Odit-e is currently developing new algorithms that only require data collected by smart meters (no more additional sensors), taking advantage of the latest major investment made for LV networks.
Odit-e’s big innovation has been to learn the electrical behavior of the network, from the smart meters measurements, in order to build a “digital twin” of the LV network. Theoretical network models are then replaced by this empirical model, providing much better results.
Odit-e focuses on three axes concerning LV networks: network mapping, state estimation and prediction, as well as solutions to avoid current or future restrictions. The first part of our new solutions have already been validated through three pilot projects in France, Belgium and Spain.
Our objectives are to offer DSOs the ability to redirect 30% of their investments where they are really needed, double the photovoltaic hosting capacity without further investment, finding half of the non-technical losses, and saving 10% of interventions cost. more
