Agile mission integration software streamlines launch readiness process
Product Overview: iRIS® is a highly scalable Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software platform designed to streamline the launch readiness process for Aerospace and DoD space programs. Since 2012, iRIS® has been used by the U.S. Air Force Space Command at Los Angeles Air force Base, Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) in El Segundo, CA to manage development of its largest space acquisition program – the Global Positioning System (GPS), a total program worth of $32 billion with an annual budget in excess of $1 billion.
The Problem: The SMC organization is being redesigned for speed and has recently launched an initiative known as SMC 2.0 to restructure this massive organization that employs over 6,300 personnel including military, civilians and contractors. The central goal of this restructuring is to take down the walls that keep programs in stovepipes and create a more unified enterprise that looks at systems horizontally from design to production. To support this objective, SMC must develop and deploy a unified IT platform that complies with governing DoD policy and guidance and must deploy this solution with minimal disruption to its on-going programs of record. The sharing of program data across the portfolio along with the use of data analytics has been recognized as a critical criteria in the success of the SMC 2.0 implementation.
The Solution: Built on Microsoft technology, iRIS® is the only PLM application at SMC that employs an event-based methodology designed to synchronize engineering efforts across multiple on-going programs.
The Solution: Celeris has received 4 successive sole source contract awards from SMC, each of which included Broad Agency Announcements as part of the source selection process. iRIS® is currently being enhanced to integrate a cybersecurity solution, a data warehouse, and Microsoft Power BI reporting capabilities and will migrate to the Azure govCloud in July of 2019, enabling Government access Government agencies. In addition, iRIS® was selected by the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) in November 2018 to support a Congressional oversight council responsible for ensuring successful GPS user signal integration with over 700 discrete weapon systems.
Revenue Growth Potential: By Q1 2019, we forecast our user base to grow into four new SMC programs in addition to GPS. We will play a central role in shaping the SMC 2.0 IT solution due to our position on SMC’s largest programs.
