Hemonauts is an exciting transmedia world that takes school-aged kids on journeys through the human body. Along the way, children are immersed in human physiology, the science of how the human body functions in health and disease.
Hemonauts aims to increase health literacy and promote healthy lifestyle
choices without feeling like homework. With an emphasis on exploration, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, the Hemonauts transmedia experiences promise a healthy dose of learning, washed down with a dollop of thrills and laughs. Plus tacos.
The Problem: We have a current and looming, healthcare workforce shortage. By 2030, the World Health Organization estimates that we will have a global shortage of roughly 18M workers.
Hypothesis: What if we could offset this shortage by promoting age-appropriate human physiology learning among children through common mass media consumer technologies (such as games, videos, and comics)?
The Solution: Thrust, along with our educational, healthcare and research partners, aims to cultivate childhood interest in overall health and the human body while improving health literacy and inspiring the next generation of healthcare workers.
Our Mission: We believe creating health-focused educational and entertaining television and digital media content of the highest standards will capture a whole generation of untapped healthcare workers. more
