Developing and commercialising oilfield game-changing production technology
The company is developing and commercialising a new game-changing multi-phase separator (The Moseley Separator) for separating multiple components of a fluid mixture, which in the case of an oilfield application would include, oil, gas, water, and solids. The technology (patent applied for) operates as a unique hybrid between the design and performance of a hydrocyclone and a centrifuge.
A key target market for the technology would be the marginal / bottle-necked oilfields of the North Sea and worldwide.
The technology has the potential to make a major impact on the oil production rate of these marginal / bottle-necked fields and therefore the revenues for the operators and national tax authorities.
The technology can also be applied as a super-compact production 3-phase separator, being around 10% of the size and weight of a conventional separtator.
The owner (Jon Moseley), is a Chemical Engineer, who after working for around 30 years in the Oil and Gas market (largely in the upstream oil and gas production market), has undertaken the design, build and successful "proof of concept" testing of the separation technology (The Moseley Separator).
3 years were spent designing and building a proof of concept unit, and testing different configurations of internal components. The key target performance parameters have been verified, and we are now ready to design, build and test the pre-production version of the separator.
In 2019 the company was awarded out of 160 applicants one of 11 places on the Oil and Gas Technology Centre (the OGTC) TechX programme in Aberdeen. During this 4 month programme we met many oil and gas operators as part of the customer validation process, and in the space of around 2 weeks established a sales pipeline of around 20 offshore fields whose produced water treatment problem could be resolved with our technology.
During 2020 the company plans to complete a 12 month programme to design and test a full scale pre-production version of our separator. This will be done in conjunction with the OGTC and participating oil and gas operators. more
