Many people today are overwhelmed with technology and do not know where to get support. This is due to the increasing complexity of the home network, where malfunction is often caused by connectivity issues and interoperability, which falls between the gaps of existing support processes. This problem is increasing with the proliferation of devices and data consumption and will
rise even more sharply with Smart Home and IoT.
As connectivity turns into the central commodity of our economy and lives the economic damage of internet outage, estimated at €100 billion for the EU today, will increase exponentially. If the internet stops working, everyday life and the economy grind to a halt. Existing support processes for the local network are currently prohibitively expensive as interventions require local presence by skilled engineers. Yet the rapidly increasing need is allowing a new breed of providers that cover demand through a mostly manual approach, but they lack the tools to address issues remotely and thereby cost-effectively.
Our technology enables effective self-help, remote and qualified walk-in support. We achieve this through pro-active diagnostics and measurements from customers’ devices, making the power of this analysis available to remote experts through our support platform. We will leverage this unique technology to disruptively build a technical support marketplace, matching the best technical experts to those in need at economically viable prices. This is a global challenge: for a highly diverse market such as the skill-set, price, trust and location of experts, the market economy will strongly benefit the platform with the largest supply. We will also provide a new and better sales channel to vendors of consumer electronics. Without intruding on privacy, our solution objectively and pro-actively assesses interoperability constraints, the hardware in the home and the usage and thereby provides sound technical advice on purchase decisions. more
