CrowdSec defeats most hacking attempts, in real-time, at any level (infrastructure, firewall, OS, code, IoT objects, etc.). The system relies on a free, open-source product that blocks hacking attempts like password guessing, port or site scanners, etc.
In exchange for this free service, hacking attempts are fed back to our central database, which anyone can subscribe to, through a SAAS with a very light monthly fee. Once activated, this subscription gives access to an API giving real-time “pass” or “block” decision, on any given IP. Like Waze for car traffic, CrowdSec offers to outsmart hackers, together.
Crowdsec has been developed to address this concern, with a brand new approach. At its very core Crowdsec is a behavior & reputation based security engine. It is a free, open source, collaborative & dynamic firewall.
But at the core of CrowdSec lies the biggest strength of all: our community. When they identify a malevolent IP, machines using the software share their findings with all the network. It means your machine partake in a sort of giant hacker interferometer.
If a threat is detected, the software can apply a remediation of your choice, drop the connexion, slow down the IP, return some Captcha (if protecting a Website or App), deny access to admin sections, etc. The remediation can be much more than just “drop”.
