Juabar's mission is to build business infrastructure in the heart of Tanzanian communities through solar powered media hubs.

We do this by building solar-powered media hubs, deploying them into offgrid plazas and leasing them to local entrepreneurs; giving them phone charging, TV viewing services and tablet internet to sell in their community.

With our platform fully realized we will create on-demand dissemination of digital information and entertainment and a last-mile distribution point for electronic products.

In addition to receiving monthly lease payments from entrepreneurs that least our solar media infrastructure, corporations and public institutions engage with us for our digital marketing opportunities. We disseminate entertainment content so our entrepreneurs can make money from managing a theater experience. Juabar makes money by showing advertising to a captive audience.

Juabar also makes money from NGOs that need a platform to show their video content on how to improve livelihoods on topics like maternal and child health and how to help farmers better manage their farms. For livelihood information, community members get this for free and the entrepreneur receives a commission for showing this content on a regular schedule.

Over the past two years, our business has worked by leasing on a monthly basis our phone charging kiosks to rural entrepreneurs, who make income from selling phone charging and solar products to community members.

By working with our rural entrepreneurs, we learned a better business opportunity was to be able to provide a suite of electronic services instead of just phone charging and to focus our expertise on how to best market products to Tanzanians.

In order to develop a sustainable business model, we've learned that we need to operate not just in rural areas but also in periurban and urban centers to leverage larger markets. This is especially important as we work with more B2B customers that use our infrastructure for marketing purposes.

We will continue to offer our solar media hubs on a monthly lease to entrepreneurs, but to scale our business we also partner with corporations to offer advertising and last mile distribution as well as disseminating livelihood information for public institutions and NGOs. Lastly, how we learned to best fit in the solar energy ecosystem is by partnering with solar minigrid companies to market solar product sales directly to community members.
