Kinetic’s first use case is a belt-mounted wearable safety product to reduce the incidence of lifting related injuries, which cost US employers $15bn per year. Sensor data, coupled with machine learning algorithms can automatically detect when a lift is performed, and when that lifts is high risk for the worker, triggering real-time feedback. The wearable device and data analytics platform has been piloted at Caterpillar, Crane Logistics and at one of the largest shipping companies, demonstrating a dramatic 80% reduction in lifting related injury risk.
