Kolyma2 aims to be the future food delivery platform: purpose-driven and quality-oriented; fair, participative, steward-owned and transparent; both economically and ecologically sustainable. Successful, controversial, cool. This is the plan. And the dream.

More precisely our platform solution will be an online-marketplace, displaying selected partner-restaurants, and featuring an integrated delivery service. Our model is Deliveroo: a better version of it.

The need is real because a modern food delivery platform modelled on the taste of the new middle class & upper lower class like the one offered by Deliveroo and Foodora is not available in Berlin anymore.

We had a first run from mid August 2019 till November 2019. We launched our food delivery platform the very same day Deliveroo closed, starting it up in two days. The set up was an HTML-landing page, with the menus of the restaurants and the instructions to order. The customer ordered by texting us, then we call the restaurants....

We had a first run from mid August 2019 till November 2019. We launched our food delivery platform the very same day Deliveroo closed, starting it up in two days. The set up was an HTML-landing page, with the menus of the restaurants and the instructions to order. The customer ordered by texting us, then we call the restaurants. The customer paid cash or per paypal, we paid the food at the moment of the pick up. The couriers were coordinated from a dispatcher through Telegram-Groups.. The Marketing was the social medias. We had 5 orders the first weekend, mostly friends, and we ended with almost 60 order in the last weekend two months later. We were opened 7 days a week 12 hours per day. The goal was to show that it was possible. We reached it. This give you an idea of your starting point.

We are now going to restart focusing on a bootstrapping strategy, i.e. economical sustainable, from day one. We’ll split our offer in two different service.

A. A B2B business-lunch catering service: a delivery service for big pre-orders on regular basis, intended for offices, that order together or that have a lunch togetherregularty.

B. A B2C food delivery service a là Deliveroo with smaller and spontaneous orders.

The service A has a much smaller target group. The customer are harder to reach but it would guarantee a cash stream that could help to financiate the project and permit an organic growth. For the service A we’re going to use our “analogue” solution, adapting our html-website to the new service. The low technology cause of the “lower pace” of this business would

The service B would have a bigger “social” impact, has a wider market but the revenue marge is also really small, the logistic effort very high, a really bad planability and subject to big fluctuation.
