In BHP, the largest integrated mining company, I built the company's approach to understanding the impacts of global decarbonization. This involved information management, team building and strategic advisory.
Information management systems. I created a reporting system inside BHP to advise senior management on developments in the space of decarbonization, involving internal podcasts, videos and presentations. This led to a significantly improved understanding of external market developments and more importantly - how they related to BHP.
I also hired a team of various experts from backgrounds in technology R&D, political advisory and computer science and differing nationalities to ensure we had the right mix of skills to deliver what the company required strategically.
Developing the right approach to strategic advisory involved building the right network of stakeholders in a vast global organization by holding workshops and seminars that culminated with output to BHP directors.
