We farm salmonids on land, in order to protect the environment from the harmful effects of traditional aquaculture. This way we can eliminate fish escapes and the subsequent genetic mixing between wild and farmed fish. We can also limit nutrient release into the wild, thus protecting the marine environment. Last but not least we are naturally free from salmon lice and therefor do not need to use the toxic chemicals and drugs otherwise used to combat it....
