The major cause is lack of an alternative affordable and accessible energy source for cooking. The above cause is further exacerbated by Uganda’s high population growth, economic growth, continued urbanisation, as well as the resulting increased demand on mobility and other energy dependent services. Our failure to transform Uganda’s natural agricultural wastes into charcoal briquettes has resulted in an increased exploitation of Uganda’s primary forests. more
