mGuru is an learning platform for the low/middle-income primary school student segment. Using tablet and smartphone apps and a data-centric approach, we aim to provide interactive mobile learning journeys, initially for English and Math.

The key focus on our apps is designing for the Indian low-middle class context. This is an environment where parents have a particular perception of education and learning, constant internet connection is scarce, smartphone quality is low, local language instruction is necessary, and significant phone storage constraints exist. At the same time, young students demand a particular interactivity and engagement from all their experiences, particularly their digital ones. We try to bring all of this knowledge and insight into the apps we build, so that it just works for the average Indian family....

mGuru founders Adam and Parabal are extremely committed to the goals they have set up for mGuru. They combine their zeal with careful study and research of the variables that impact the startup. Both of them have an attitude that inculcates the ability to adapt to their work environment. They are sensitive to the non-profit environment and believe that the ability to work across the differing work cultures will ensure their success in the challenging path they have chosen. I do wish them success and believe they will achieve what they have set out to do.
