Attendees can engage in more than 70 educational workshops focusing on field-tested ideas and learn from national keynote speakers.

• Through Coaching: Milestones helps families with a child on the autism spectrum learn how to advocate on behalf of their child, access services, and prioritize their child’s short and long-term needs. There is no charge for this service. In 2014, 500 family members received assistance through the coaching program.

• Through Teen/Adult Consultation Services: Milestones provides consultations for individuals 14 years old and older to create realistic, implementable action plans to help them reach their full potential. Milestones also provides trainings to agencies to help them provide best practices in their services to teens and adults with autism.

• Through Online Resources: Milestones connects self-advocates, parents and professionals with over 1,000 autism resources, tool kits and frequently asked questions on the website milestones.org; the site reaches more than 55,000 unique visitors each year.

Milestones’ impact is enhanced through ongoing partnerships with local school districts and community agencies. To date, Milestones has worked with more than 475 community partners in delivering information and services to the autism community. Staff at Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Monarch Center for Autism, Cleveland Clinic Center for Autism MetroHealth, Cleveland Clinic, and University Hospitals contact Milestones for recommendations and assistance and to provide in-service trainings for their staff.
