The structure is equipped with transit sensors, which allow the creation of a traffic map over the network, useful for the purpose of calculating routes and travel times, monitoring the state of the structures and planning preventive maintenance interventions. Road traffic separation posts are equipped with sensors capable of detecting the invasion of a vehicle, while other sensors, under the cycle lane, identify and signal unauthorized parking on the runway.
Along the way, other sensors are installed to measure environmental data, such as the concentration of CO2 and fine dust in the air, temperature, pressure and humidity. Other sensors can be integrated according to the needs of the context. Numerous options are available: heated anti-freeze cycle lanes, for countries with very cold climates, lanes made with drive-over solar panels, that use the cable ducts inside the structure for wiring, charging columns and the possibility of installing a guide cable for allow cleaning and snow removal operations, using autonomous guided vehicles.
These features, together with data collection and other services related to lane surfaces and interior spaces, activate new and unprecedented business and self-financing models, interesting for administrations and companies that decide to adopt them, and for the benefit of citizens and the environment.
