Our company “Nano IC” (www.nano-ic.com) is a very high-tech fabless/system semiconductor company based in the Bay Area with a novel and patented technology to detect counterfeit tangible goods. The technology incorporates two proprietary ASIC chips that we have developed along a smart phone application software which allows communication between the two devices.

The technology employs the above two Integrated Circuits (chips) where military type encryption/decryption engines have been designed on board these 2 chips. The first one, “Smart Tag”, would be programmed with a unique product Serial Number (SN) and is attached/affixed to the product. The second chip, the “Reader”, would be part of a module sent to the point of authentication/sale. The “Reader” module will be attached to a Smart Phone. The “Reader” reads the SN in both encrypted and decrypted format from the “Smart Tag” on the product and compares them against its own expected value to authenticate the product (for a better visual perception, the “Smart Tag” is the serial number on a cereal box, and the “Reader” is the scanner at the super market!).
