Our product focuses on making traveling by foot easier for the visually impaired through the use of modern electronics. The NaviCane uses three sensors to scan the surroundings, which give feedback to the user through the use of three vibration pads that are imbedded in the handle. the handle of the NaviCane holds a GPS module that can guide the user to their daily destinations. The GPS module works together with a bluetooth module and bluetooth headset to notify the user of the upcoming directions and also warn the user of any critical situations. We see that through he combination of all this components the daily travel of a visually impaired user will be greatly benefited.

The NaviCane will be directly marketed towards current white cane users, with secondary focus on individuals currently using other forms of walking assistance(service dogs, etc.). Marketing will be directed towards a younger crowd at first, the younger generations have the benefit of having been exposed to technology throughout most of their lives. The path we plan to take to test our product with customers is to approach the Tennessee School for the Blind to see how some of their kids like the NaviCane.

There is currently only one other product that could be considered competition, although this cane only uses sensors to detect objects and shows no signs of incorporating GPS and Bluetooth like the NaviCane. To be competitive the NaviCane will be priced at $899. For the marketing aspect of the NaviCane, it will be marketed in the Upper Cumberland region during its first year on market and expanding to the entire United States by the fourth year. We plan to sell a NaviCane to 1% of the visually impaired in our marketing region. With this being said, our profit is Calculated to be $22,245,755 by the fourth year.

Our next steps are to use any donations we get to continue building on our prototype. Once a fully functional prototype is complete it will be tested with local Tennessee Tech students to help them navigate the campus. With success here we will continue testing and improving the NaviCane by reaching out to the Tennessee School for the Blind for their input.
