At Neopenda, we believe that the most vulnerable patient populations in the world deserve access to high quality health care. We’re a social enterprise startup passionate about improving newborn health in low-resource settings through innovative technology. Neopenda's first product, currently being validated in clinical trials in Uganda, is an affordable wireless vital signs monitor for neonates in overcrowded, understaffed health facilities. Our solution reduces response time to newborns in distress, and helps healthcare workers to save more lives.

I am pleased to support Neopenda in their efforts to bring an affordable device to market and ultimately improve newborn care in developing countries. Neopenda’s efforts are certainly in line with The Tamer Funds objectives of creating solutions that have high impact in addition to financial sustainability. Global health technologies such as Neopenda’s are in dire need, but often not given the appropriate attention. Under Neopenda’s leadership, I believe that their technology will help fill that gap and address this underserved healthcare need. As the Instructor of the Biomedical Design course where the team created this product, I have seen them bring this device from concept to prototype. I was excited to see the team validating their market potential and commercial opportunity in Uganda and more recently, participate in an accelerater program to develop their MVP and business model. I am confident Neopenda is well-positioned to address this neglected market.
