While working from a Starbucks on a previous project, I was on the phone to one of the developers when the gentleman on the laptop beside me politely interrupted and suggested that he may just have the solution for fixing the hurdle we were facing. It was the moment we realised that we are always surrounded by highly skilled people that could add immense value to our network connections. The only issue is that up to now we have failed to make the most out of these possible collaborations due to the simple fact that although we are at a hand shake away, we are unaware of each other’s background and skills.

Netwok App has set out to fix three precise issues by combining proximity geolocation with digital business cards.

Firstly, it provides a means by which people can discover the business background of other users around them. The user’s profile is created through a single tap by incorporating the LinkedIn information. This in itself presents users with the opportunity to network efficiently everywhere, from their local café to their business travels across the continent.

Secondly, it helps users easily save important connections which they can pick up at a later date, knowing the business background of the user, any relevant notes, as well as exactly where and when they met. As paper business cards are often only a medium until the information is typed and saved digitally, the app also eliminates this process.

Lastly, Netwok is a platform for communication where users can chat or pitch their new ideas and stay up to date with the latest information and comments from the events they attend. Each user is only allowed to send a message that is 140 characters long until the person replies, thus eliminating spamming behaviour.

I recently met Alex Buzaianu and Alexandru-Gala through the European tech ecosystem. Although they are a young team, I was very impressed with the vision, the energy and the drive. It's great to see strong talent coming out of Eastern Europe, and I particularly liked how they complement each other. Best of luck to you guys!

I met Alex and some of the team over a year ago at a startup weekend and was immediately impressed with their ideas and work ethic. Netwok fulfils a need to move away from swapping of outdated paper cards to really connecting with people useful and, most importantly, being able to retrieve information about the connection- it's origin for example. I've no hesitation recommending both the team and the project- I've found them a pleasure to work with and they not only deserve success but are prepared to work very hard to achieve it.

Iv'e known Alex for a number of years he's tenacious, intelligent and driven like crazy, you shouldn't really expect any less from former professional sportsman but as a founder Iv'e watched him grow into force of nature whether its marketing, fund-raising or managing development. (This is from someone whose raised three rounds so I don't utter those words lightly or give references freely.)

Netwok has gone from something I was unsure about to an app that really fulfils a need and does it well. In terms of location tech I'm keeping a close eye on Alex and if I eventually pay myself more than minimum directors salary, Netwok is something I'd love to invest in.
