We develop a sensor stripe to analyze movements in a room. The sensor stripe is mounted a few centimeters over the ground, e. g. onto, into or over baseboards. With the help of machine learning, activities in a room can be detected. The sensor system works non-intrusively and automatically, the person in the room does not have to carry any item.

The system is used in nursing homes to secure the residents and relieve the nurses, by identifying potentially dangerous situations automatically. With the help of smart baseboards, nursing home providers and their nurses can:
- detect falls, bed exits and other dangerous situations immediately and automatically and get useful information about the circumstances of these events
- recognise deviations in the daily routine of a resident (decrease in activities, increase in number of toilet visits)
- use building automation functionalities (automatic light control and heating control)

Our technology is patent pending and developed in Aachen, Germany. nevisQ was founded by four former RWTH Aachen University students. We received 125,000 € from the founder grant Exist, awarded by the german ministry of economy and energy. We also received € 50,000 from EIT Health Headstart program and are backed by a German business angel.
