New Media Ventures funds tech and media startups that support community building and citizen engagement.
We bring together a national network of angel investors who invest in scalable, revenue-generating startups that create long-term political impact beyond any one election cycle. Over the past 5 years, New Media Ventures has overseen the investment of more than $8 million into a portfolio of both nonprofit and mission-driven for-profit startups, including Upworthy, DailyKos, SumOfUs and Coworker.
In the fall of 2014, we also launched the NMV Innovation Fund, a $2 million seed fund focused on early-stage funding. Twice a year, we host Open Calls to find new incredible startups and innovative projects to fund.
