We make the world a better place by addressing 2 immense challenges: Political inclusion and environmental risks. We do so by developing Nebulae - a massively multiplayer online strategy game that allows players to collectively experiment with governance and political structures in an environmentally threatened sci-fi universe. Through our positioning as a mass-market game we also want to engage, empower and entertain citizens who would not typically consider themselves as gamers.

We intend our universe to be within players' reach in any set of circumstances. This translates into a necessity to have account, interface, server and gameplay compatibility across (at a minimum) mobile and PC devices, where most of our target audience is found. Therefore, Nebulae will first be released on mobile devices, then expanded to PC.

This translates into a necessity to have account, interface, server and gameplay compatibility across (at a minimum) mobile and PC devices, where most of our target audience is found. Therefore, Nebulae will first be released on mobile devices, then expanded to PC.

Nebulae is structured around 3 core gameplay elements:

1) Management:
Politics only exists when there are things that need to be managed, decisions that need to be taken, clashes of interests that need to be resolved. In Nebulae, every player will need to manage at least one planet - its economic output, environmental sustainability, population, quality of life, research. Player choices in how they develop their planet and contribute to the overall economy of the faction are the corner-stone of Nebulae.

2) Politics:
As players master the governance of planets, they will be presented with a number of choices to make with regard to the political life of their faction: Do they want to live in a democracy, an autocratic system, and enlightened monarchy, or something else? Do they want to support the regime in place, oppose it, or create their own? What should the faction produce and what is its foreign policy? How will each faction respond to the threat of an expanding nebula, which diminishes the playable map of the galaxy and disrupts the very possibility of a stable status quo between powers?

3) Combat:
Sometimes negotiations stop and the cannons begin to sing. An important aspect of Nebulae's appeal to mass-market is the presence of 3D combat in space, which speaks to a wide segment of the gaming market. Broadly, warfare has always been the continuation of politics through other means, and in Nebulae, we link the results from battlefields to actual changes on the galaxy map, so players uninterested in politics may still shape the galaxy.

Gaming, like any other cultural product, is political. We believe it's time to level it up.
