We use aerial images to help farmers manage two large problems with nitrogen management for corn: 1) N loss and 2) wide variability in the most profitable rate.
For both, we translate images to nitrogen fertilizer control files that automate putting the right rate in the right place. With N loss, we also help them with the basic decision to do something, or do nothing, by giving them a solid estimate of the cost (yield loss) of doing nothing.

We have several additional products in our pipeline that stay with the theme of using high-tech data to produce automated (control file) or very simple decision support....

NVision Ag is solving a real problem - how to feed more people on a fixed amount of farm land. Nitrogen application is a key area where precision agriculture can help farmers and the environment. Using daily satellite imagery, NVision Ag provides the quickest and most accurate decision support possible.

I want to voice my support of Peter and the impact of his research. As an aerial applicator, I am often able to see issues within growing crops that many times go unnoticed or untreated because a grower lacks knowledge of the problem or the ability to treat the issue in a reasonable timeframe. Peter's continued efforts in the area of nutrition management are sure to make a noticeable agronomic as well as economic impact on future production practices. I see his work in identifying and quantifying Nitrogen deficiency in crop production as being one of the critical links to what will become an absolute game changer in the way that nutrition is managed in world food and fiber production. It is breakthroughs like his that will allow producers to continue to supply the world with an affordable food supply while leaving a lighter environmental footprint that helps sustain our natural resources.
In short, Peter's work will change the way we address nutrition management in a very powerful way.

We've know Peter as a true nitrogen innovator and expert. As a company with its own nutrient management solution, we understand the need for a host of new products and ideas that help growers get more visibility and agility in the process of managing their nitrogen application. N-Vision is promising addition to that grower toolset.

To whom it may concern:
I am writing to provide my support for the NVision Ag service. At DuPont Pioneer we recognize the challenges growers face in making sound corn N management decisions. Because of the uncertainties of weather and spatially variable soils, growers often under- or over-apply N fertilize leading to economic losses and environmental issues. For these reasons, DuPont Pioneer is extremely supportive of development of tools like this that can help growers develop better N management strategies, with plans tailored to individual fields based on soil variability, weather conditions, as well as real time assessment of crop conditions throughout the season. DuPont Pioneer undertook a pilot program in Iowa with growers in 2014 evaluating N-vision and plans to continue evaluating this tool in the future. This tool can help growers better determine the right amounts of N to apply and enhance yield and profit.
