I am the director as well as event organiser, financial officer, customer service manager, marketing director, website controller, and problem solver. A quick overview is that my business brings five inter-connecting literary groups together. These literary groups are: independently published authors, self-published authors (jointly known as indie authors), private publishing businesses, readers and writers.

My business gives indie authors struggling to sell their books into mainstream bookstores or book distribution companies, an opportunity to promote and sell their print and e-books directly to the public. Readers get to buy books from the author and find out what went into creating the story. Writers, keen to find out how to publish their own book connect with various small/private/boutique publishing business who provide a variety of services to turn manuscripts into published books.

These literary groups are: independently published authors, self-published authors (jointly known as indie authors), private publishing businesses, readers and writers.

My role is to bring together these five groups using advertising, the media (tv, radio, articles), email newsletters, social media and presentations. The exhibitors pay for a stall at he festival in which they can promote and sell their books and/or services. The public has free entry to this event. As I mentioned in the first paragraph I look after the financial side ensuring exhibitors receive what they'd paid for ensure all costs are covered with the balance being invested into the following years festival.
Exhibitor queries and customer are all dealt with by me though I do have a small group of women I can call on for advice in various areas of my business. This includes, event management, marketing and cat herding.
