Aiming at achieving sustainability (economic growth and environmental protection) through a volatile agrifood market, farmers seek new and more efficient cultivations. During this process most farmers face the same problems and question: “which cultivations have optimal yields in the area of my interest?” Or the other way around: “where can I find optimal growing conditions for a new profitable cultivation?”. The OCGC Application addresses the aforementioned problems, offering to its clients and users the profile of 15 physicochemical (Pc) conditions and the range of the values that these conditions should have in order to achieve optimal yield for 100+ modern cultivations. Following that, the app will reuse open currently available climatic, terrain model (DTM) and soil (Pc) data, in order to match the profiles of the 100 cultivations with the specific conditions of each area and will produce a list of suitable (meaning thriving in a highly productive manner-optimal yield) cultiva...

OCGC offers 4 more functions: a) the user can feed more detailed Pc data for his field and get back the most suited crops for him, b) the user asks advices on where the optimal conditions for specific cultivations can be found, c) which crops are eligible for direct payments by the Common Agricultural Policy and d) detailed cultivation instructions and field work dairy as well as Good Agricultural and Environmental Conditions required by the CAP. OCGC will be offered through FISpace, will be available for desktop and mobile devices. FISpace will be also used for requesting more detailed open climatic, DTM and soil data.
