The conceptual design and interface are simultaneously being adapted and improved. our product is smart eyewear that converts speech to text as captioning. The interface of the smart eyewear also displays direction of the sound as both a safety feature and to help the user follow the direction of a conversation and intuitively engage with their peers. These microphones pick up sound in all directions to give the user a perspective of sound. The device is coupled with a mobile app targeting personalized education. Transcriptions are saved as notes allowing the user to organize them by category, study from them, and remember assignments. The student app is facilitated through the teacher or aid’s app to make sure they are acquiring accurate transcriptions, receiving feedback, and progressing in their education. According to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, children that do not have intervention, whether a device or therapy, fall 1 to 4 grades below the average hearing student (2011).

Our program involves strategies of deaf and hard of hearing educators that have been successful and personalized for each student’s special needs. Our primary target audience is students is between 10 to 17 years old and are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or have Auditory Processing Disorder.
