In research and development stages, our product is smart eyewear that converts speech to text as captioning. We are currently working on a pilot to finalize our minimum viable product in software form. The conceptual design and interface are simultaneously being adapted and improved. our product is smart eyewear that converts speech to text as captioning. The interface of the smart eyewear also displays direction of the sound as both a safety feature and to help the user follow the direction of a conversation and intuitively engage with their peers. These microphones pick up sound in all directions to give the user a perspective of sound. The device is coupled with a mobile app targeting personalized education. Transcriptions are saved as notes allowing the user to organize them by category, study from them, and remember assignments. The student app is facilitated through the teacher or aid’s app to make sure they are acquiring accurate transcriptions, receiving feedback, and progressing in their education. According to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, children that do not have intervention, whether a device or therapy, fall 1 to 4 grades below the average hearing student (2011).

I highly recommend oLIVE Devices and its leadership team. oLIVE Devices is developing an innovative product that will not only solve a need in the marketplace but also change the lives of many young adults with hearing disabilities. The product builds on existing market technologies but through innovation, development and creativity, it will provide a synergistic solution to a problem that has existed for many years. The leadership team is extremely dedicated to the success of this product for the societal and individual benefits. The technology is still in development but with mentorship hard work, and the support of your program, the chances for success greatly improve.
Founder is passionate and dedicated. Early product development is promising. Challenges have been identified and prioritized; solutions and vendors are being evaluated and pursued. There is a valid market and the product solution would solve a problem and improve the user circumstances. Go-to-market strategy and execution not fully developed. oLIVE is still early but would benefit from your program.
oLive is an innovative solution to a real and pressing problem for hearing impaired youth. Renee is a committed and bright entrepreneur/designer who has worked tenaciously to develop this concept. Her solution will have a tremendous positive impact on the lives of these youth, and I have every confidence she can succeed.
I consulted Renee on oLive this past fall. She is a very tenacious individual. She takes in advice and puts in the work needed to move her idea further each time we meet.
oLive is impacting lives in a different way. Their pilot device, Universal HEar will fill a gap in assistive devices for the deaf and take another step to making the daily life of this audience better than it currently is.
