More inland, we have salt mines that extract minerals from the earth using groundwater which pollutes scarce freshwater and threatens agriculture and land animals. These extracted minerals include precious compounds like lithium which is used in smartphones and electric car batteries as well as in medicine to treat mental health illnesses. Other compounds are used to de-ice roadways in cold-weather communities. The demand for these minerals is increasing as supplies struggle to keep up.

Olokun Minerals seeks to mitigate these issues by capturing brine waste before it goes into the ocean and harvests these minerals for key infrastructure needs. We offer Desalination Plants a brine waste removal service that allows water managers to dispose of waste easily and effectively without disturbing marine life. We then use innovative technology to produce a renewable energy source from the brine before cleaning and harvesting magnesium, silica, potassium, calcium, sodium, and lithium from the brine to be used to produce non-corrosive, environmentally friendly de-icing agents as well as raw materials for energy storage.
