The event will be structured by category or "Zones". Those zones will be Healthcare (HealthSpark*), Education (EdSpark*), Technology (TechSpark*) and Social Good (SocialSpark*). A potential fifth category will be a General category based on the review of submissions.

Five teams will be selected within each Zone by judges to compete in a presentation competition, called Spark Tank. The winners of each Zone will receive $5,000 and will then compete for an additional $20,000 to determine the Top Creator/Innovator of the festival.

Spark Tanks are our version of a pitch competition. Each team is given 45 minutes with a team of judges, from Venture Capital to subject matter experts. The first portion of each pitch is the presentation of the idea to cover specific topics (idea, market size, business model, etc.). The second portion is a Q&A session from the panel of judges, followed by advice and feedback.

All Spark Tank participants will be required to sign a non-recourse convertible note valued at $30,000 which converts to equity upon the venture's next funding round at this monetary value. Details of this note will be explained prior to the event so everyone understands the concept. We are not asking for 5% of your company, just the chance to be in the next funding round given the platform and exposure a Spark Tank provides each team.

Participants of the Spark Tank competitions will be judged on the following:

1. Person or Team - Why this team? Why are "YOU" doing this? What is your motivation? Why can't someone else?

2. Idea - How innovative is it? How is it new and different?

3. Business Model - is it scalable? Realistic? Viable?

4. Market - is there a market for this idea? What is the size of the Market?

5. Presentation - Does the person/team know their stuff? Did they convey their idea succinctly? Was the team energetic & passionate?

If you are ready to be in the arena, please apply.
