Open Utility is an innovative energy start-up based in Hoxton, London. The team of 9 has partnered with Good Energy to launch Piclo, the UK’s first online renewable energy market.

Piclo gives generators and consumers control over their energy by showing where electricity is generated and sold, what it costs and how those costs change over time. The online platform matches energy supply and demand preferences every half an hour, and trades 100% renewable electricity.

The six-month trial of Piclo began on October 1st, 2015, and is funded by the Department of Energy and Climate Change’s Energy Entrepreneurs Fund, and Nominet Trust. It is also supported by Ofgem, the energy industry regulator....
