Developing online measurement system for characterization of structures during and after earthquakes or other possible harmful effects (floods, aging, wind...) is our main objective. The project is related to development of a system for measuring strong motions,i.e.,development of an upgraded version of the instrument that has previously been developed.The main objective is to develop a system that will satisfy the needs for measuring of strong motions on structures (dams, chimneys,buildings,bridges,cultural historic monuments) and will be,at the same
time,cheaper and easier to be handled and maintained compared to those existing on the market that are expensive and in a limited number.Our objective is to reduce the price for 50%and achieve a greater competitiveness as a company, providing an opportunity for instrumentation of buildings not only for meeting legal obligations but also for the purposes of preventive and predictive maintenance.The system consists of two parts:hardware and software.The hardware part is planned to be developed as a platform composed of a power supply part,communication part,memory,processing part and a part intended for filtration and analogue-digital conversion.Depending on the needs and the application for which it is used,different measuring sensors could be connected to the platform thus creating a universal instrument that will be able to “online” measure and present the values of accelerations along three axes and during three rotations. The software package to be elaborated for this purpose consists of two
main parts:a embedded software and and application software.The embedded software enables complete operation of the hardware system. Application software for real-time monitoring, data processing, alarming and meeting customer needs.
