One-line description: Opening up vacant land for rental, thereby providing more rental spots for mobile dwellers and residual, rental income for property owners.

Longer Description: As our population grows, land will become scarce and land ownership will get harder. There is a growing population of mobile dwellers (IDC research: Link 1, Link 2). With the rise in gig economy and housing costs, more people are opting to live in smaller housing units (think tiny houses, RVs, shipping containers, vans etc.) in locations of their choice.

At the same time, land ownership is getting more expensive. Farm and ranch owners across the country are looking for helping hands and ways to generate extra income to maintain their land. While Airbnb solved the problem for apartment/homeowners who could rent out empty sleeping space in their homes to travelers, such a solution doesn’t yet exist for property owners who simply have a patch of vacant land. Their barriers to entry to the rental market are high. Currently, they need to provide infrastructure to create a habitable environment for a renter before putting their property on the market. However, with the mobile dweller population, they only need an empty patch of land. The dwellers will bring their housing units with them.

Currently, the way our target population solves this problem is with Facebook groups and craigslist. The process is a clunky, long drawn out mess -- similar to how finding a short-term rental unit was before Airbnb came along. Often, mobile dwellers don’t manage to find a host at all and have to illegally park on the streets. Along with that, it’s also unsafe for families with young children, and they form a significant portion of our target market.

Given the abundance of vacant land in the US, and the Americas overall, opening up that land for safe, sustainable and affordable living is our primary goal.
