PDP is developing the PD-Guard which is a stand-alone, contactless, continuous monitoring device and service for HV/MV equipment. PD-Guard offering will be based on two main pillars:

1. Standalone monitoring device located next to an existing grid equipment and monitoring its health. This provides its owners (TSO/DSO- or commercial users) with alerts with respect to increasing PD trends as preset in advance by the customer.
2. A service of delivering maintenance insights and failure predictions. PDP will provide, for an annual contract, periodic reports on the monitored equipment with critical health information and maintenance insights that will support CBM strategies.

PD-Guard, PDP’s product allows for the monitoring of HV/MV power grid assets located in the same facility, in real time. The electromagnetic signals captured by PD-Guard in each location are processed by its software and proprietary algorithms, the processed data is then sent to a central server where the information is further analyzed combining PD trends, phase analysis and more together with additional data as it becomes available (such as load data, environmental data etc.) through data analytics techniques. The output of the analytics is maintenance insights that ensure the execution of condition-based maintenance for grid equipment and life expectancy/failure predictions.
PDP's uses Ultra-wide band (UWB) antennas (non-contact and non-intrusive) and amplifiers, followed by sophisticated signal processing to isolate the PD event from the surrounding noise.
