The POUNCE controller is a local web server, with cloud access, making it seamless for utilities to interface with an unlimited number of systems to shed loads without disrupting customer’s operations. Renewable energy and peak loads that challenge utilities can be mitigated by automatically adjusting temperature set-points on any size air-conditioner and removing non-essential loads, based on the customer’s choice. Cortland Research will work with utilities to deploy POUNCE to their advantage, such as deferring the cost of building new substations and power generation plants. End users enjoy many other benefits that are included with the system, such as receiving alerts from their system via text and email. “Big Data” collected by POUNCE® is stored in the controller on site. Users access the configuration and status menus with a browser on a smart phone, tablet, laptop or PC. Users subscriptions allow 24/7 access their system and their data. Subscriptions include software updates, energy analysis, text alerts, and technical support. Fielded systems show up to 55% reduction in energy. University partnered research determined a 32% reduction in energy. A third party analysis of POUNCE calculated an 18% reduction in energy.
