The current approach to reducing the risk of workplace injuries relies on the observations and opinions of safety professionals and includes very little data analysis. Decades of research have indicated that the most effective injury prevention methods are found in elite sport. These methods involve the measurement of the athlete’s movements using wearable technology, and analysis of the data collected to identify injury risk and guide action to reduce these risks.

Our product enables employers to:
• Identify the individual workers with a high injury risk
• Identify the specific work tasks with a high injury risk
• Reduce these risks in a measurable, cost-effective and sustainable way.
• Provide workers with an engaging injury prevention tool that provides them with feedback when their risk is increased, and guides their movements to reduce this risk.
The product consists of two small, lightweight sensors worn by the worker (one on the upper arm and the other on the upper back), a smartphone App that collects the data and transmits it to the cloud-based analysis and reporting platform. The two primary product features include:
1. Movement Coach.
Workers wear the sensors throughout their shift and receive live notifications when they move in a manner that increases their injury risk, prompting them to stop and move in a safe manner. This feature is perfect for fatigue monitoring and manual handling training that drives behavior change.
2. Task Assessment.
Safety professionals collect video and measure the movements of individual workers performing specific tasks, enabling them to identify the injury risks associated with the task and reduce these risks in a measurable way. This feature is perfect for comparing different manual handling aids, pre-employment screening and assessing capacity for return to work following injury.
As the database grows, we will be building an AI component that will predict which workers are at an increased risk of injury when performing specific work tasks. Insurance companies will also be able to use the data in Workers' Compensation Premium calculations.
