While there are many use cases the one we are investigating now is creating a meal planning app for Type-2 diabetics that will help them adhere to medical necessary diets. In the long run we hope to slow the growth of Diabetes within the U.S. by 10% by 2025.

This invention relates to the process and system for the use of point of sales data from grocery store cash registers, to populate virtual inventories of purchased food items for the consumer. More particularly, the invention relates to a method and a system where an A.I. assisted mobile payment and web based process provides a weekly meal plan with an automated fridge and pantry inventory system (this inventory is populated at the point of sale via electronic receipts) so the consumer can automate the majority of their weekly meal planning tasks. This invention and process is also further applicable to any information or SKU (stock keeping unit) data a consumer might want to keep track of automatically upon purchasing any good bought via electronic technology (e.g. Credit card, mobile phone app, biometric payment…)

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

In today’s world of mobile consumer technology, the average person creates a significant amount of consumer data by their habits, activities, location, and purchases. Currently, this user data is primarily used by companies to better learn individual consumer habits so the company can then market a certain good or service to the specific individual consumer. The object of PVI technology is to use the information collected on consumer purchases in a way that will benefit the consumer directly. Particularly in light of the pervasiveness of mobile payment technology and Artificial Intelligence.

With current food inventory or meal planning applications the burden falls on the user to manually input all food items into the program. Even with current technological solutions busy families don’t have the time to meal plan according to their own priorities of saving time, saving money, and improving overall nutrition. Current solutions are too expensive, too time consuming, and do not take advantage of new technologies (or combination of technologies) i.e. mobile payment technology, A.I., machine learning, and cognitive consumer science.
