Pyne started from the realization that it is hard to find answers to subjective questions, which are rooted in opinion. We wanted to create a community where people could easily gather opinions to their questions, and where stating your opinion is fun and enlightening. We created Pyne to be a perfect balance these two activities, all within one community.

It’s easy for people to see the value in getting answers to subjective questions. For example, how do you think the city of Baltimore is handling protests, would you vote for Hillary Clinton, or do you think the man bun is sexy? What makes Pyne special is how we have crafted the experience of answering questions and giving your opinions. We have discovered that people love answering questions that reveal something about themselves and how their views fit into the world around them. Each question has a results screen with data visualization, filters and comments. This discovery process is what makes answering questions on Pyne so much fun, and keeps our users coming back day after day.

After receiving such positive feedback from our app, we also built an embedded polling platform. This platform allows publishers and other creators to embed Pyne polls into their websites, blogs, or even apps. These polls are clean and fast, giving publishers a natural way to engage with their readers. We view this as a natural expansion of our in-app polls, and plan to dominate the subjective question space through these two platforms.

Pyne is in its early days and we have big ideas for the future. In the near term, we have plans for new features, including an enhanced discussion platform that will allow our users to dive deeper into questions and increase engagement. Our algorithm currently takes into account category preferences, friends, popularity, and recency to deliver questions to people who will find them most interesting. As we grow, our algorithm will become even more powerful and take into account more variables to tailor the Pyne experience to each user’s interests. In the long term, we view Pyne as becoming one of the most powerful market research tools on the planet. We already have millions of data points on our users. In the future we will be able to build complex social profiles for each user, and be able to deliver custom tailored content to more specific groups than ever before.

Pyne is moving forward and we have some really big ideas. We would love the opportunity to tell you more in person.
