Water solubility is the most important feature of our product that opens up new disposal scenarios for this material. Solubility tests have therefore been carried out in cold water and in hot water. The tests in cold water (between 4 and 25 ° C) were conducted in mains water and seawater, leading in both cases to a degradation of the material approximately after 10 days. The tests in hot water (about 40 ° C) were instead carried out using only mains water to simulate a self-disposal of the final user. At domestic water temperatures, our product melts in a few seconds without leaving visible traces. In this way, its disposal can be carried out by simply throwing hot water into any domestic drain. Our innovative formulation makes Relicta plastic better than other products with similar properties. In fact, this product, despite its marked affinity to water, shows considerable resistance in very humid environments, such as inside a refrigerator. The properties of the plastic do not change over many months (about 12), it is also resistant to rain or direct water jets. Through the developed formulation it is possible to modulate the properties of the plastic obtaining a flexible product in the form of a film and a more rigid product. In both cases, the above properties are retained. The development of the material is currently limited to laboratory tests only and is not yet accurately standardized. The material has excellent mechanical properties. It is difficult to break the film by applying a force with the hands.
