The RGU Startup Accelerator programme is an opportunity for students, staff and alumni of Robert Gordon University and North East Scotland College to turn their ideas into viable businesses. The award-winning annual competition funded by The Wood Foundation looks for passionate, creative and ambitious entrepreneurs to apply and up to thirty teams will be accepted onto the programme which runs from January 2020 – May 2020.

Those which show the stronger business potential, a clear understanding of the problem and an innovative idea for a solution will be accepted to the programme and will receive:

> £10,000 in startup funding
> Five months of skill development sessions
> Access to city centre co-working facilities
> Opportunity to pitch at a showcase event
> Support from industry mentors

The RGU Startup Accelerator shall be open to applications to individuals and teams which meet the following eligibility criteria:

> Individuals with a new business idea, where at least one member of the founding team is a current RGU or NESCol student, staff member, or alumni.
>Existing companies or charities where a member of the founding team is a current RGU or NESCol student, staff member or alumni and the company has been dormant, non-trading or trading for no longer than twenty-four months with an income under £100,000.

If you are interested in applying for the RGU Startup Accelerator programme then the competition process shall be:

> Teams to submit an online application form outlining their business idea;
> Applications reviewed in Stage 1 to screen for eligibility, completion and industry to identify appropriate external judges;
> Shortlisted applications shall be distributed to judges external to the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group;
> Judges will score and provide comments on applications;
> In the event applications are too close to identify clear winners, then some teams may be invited to participate in a live or video pitch or interview before judges;
> Finally, the EIG will confirm the teams selected and notify all applicants.
