At the convergence of smart data and curated content, RoadSpoke (www.roadspoke.com) is a GPS triggered audible app that narrates entire Interstates. It will acquire millions of users because each year, 232 million drivers take long distance road trips and they will embrace “The Official Talking Tour of the Open Road.” The app automatically triggers story, history, celebrity, scandals, science, family friendly and more stories right where it happened. Seeking new experiences the “tourification” of America will heighten road-trippers’ engagement with upcoming Points of Interest and real time retail discounts. The first Tour (Maine to Miami on I-95) is 90% complete and is being released in time for Spring Break.

As proven by Waze, travel is better when we are guided, informed, and entertained. Just as drivers are guided around traffic, road-trippers will love that RoadSpoke works in conjunction with Waze and music apps like Pandora such that they can avoid traffic while they get “music and a tour”!

This is truly a unique app that will tap a massive marketplace by both going straight to the consumer, and by offering off-highway stakeholders advertising opportunities. The profit potential is enormous, and the exit strategy is to become a very appealing acquisition.

Because of the vast content required to launch, this is not a typical app which can go viral immediately. It needs, like Amazon, to be rolled out like a virtual retail store, one Tour at a time. But like Amazon, RoadSpoke is defining a New Marketplace. Market dominance will be dependent on seizing market share and offering a vast amount of content. The app will be sold first as an Interstate tour (eg $6.99 for “The 7 Eleven Tour of I-95. Maine to Miami”). Later the revenue stream will be generated from GPS ads along the road. At this point, it will be free to download but will generate revenue via Freemium upgrades. The company will also collect important consumer data from users that can be sold. And finally, one of the BIGGEST app features is "Deal Radar". This button scans Upcoming Exits for time sensitive discounts placed by Retail Partners.
