Our goal is to create the equivalent of hotels.com for the RV park industry by aggregating availability. We believe through technology we are introducing an unseen efficiency and bringing new customer segments to the RV market.

The first step we’ve taken to reach is this goal is creating the largest database of 16,000 private RV parks in the U.S. Our product is built for consumers to crowdsource pictures, reviews, pricing, activities/amenities, and key reservation information like response times.

The bread and butter of our current application is the ability to submit requests to nearby campgrounds much like inquiring about a Zillow apartment listing. Customers then wait to hear back from the campground about pricing and availability. Before transacting, consumers will soon be aware of average response times and rates based on previous inquiries.

When inquiries are submitted, the respective campground receives an automated email, phone call, and/or SMS. We’re even considering fax based on feedback. These preferences can be managed through a custom RoverPass CMS that campgrounds use to adjust their notification settings and their profiles. They can add RV site plans (building block for availability), photos, pricing, hours of operation, seasons, and activities/amenities, and more.

The most important feature we have, dubbed "CampgroundConnect," is the phone call campgrounds receive for requests. They'll receive an automated call using text-to-voice technology stating the reservation request details. This is important because all campgrounds in the industry already take reservations by phone. By plugging into their current process we reduce friction for our solution. We’ve created a scalable product for quick access to availability.

The behind-the-scenes process is key for building trust and community, monitoring customer experience, as well as increasing sales, activations and usage. We personally follow up with all reservations to make sure both parties have fulfilled the request, their thoughts on the product, ask them to join our pilot program and to receive our product newsletter. Other automated communications are sent to encourage product usage.

Near future additions include incentives for contributing crowdsourced content, 1-click checkouts, features encouraging social activity like a trip planner and a community to foster best practices and ideas. For campgrounds we will add detailed analytics and lightweight inventory management.
