The Safebit team conducted over 60 interviews in senior homes and senior centers and learned that 95% of seniors suffer from severe forgetfulness, 45% of them have signs of early stages of Alzheimer disease. Therefore, our wearable device is focused on helping the target market being seniors that need a wearable assistant to help them be reminded on there daily task and notify their loved one at the same time in case of an emergency. Our wearable device wants to solve the problem of seniors getting lost through Alzheimer disease. Seniors who do not have Alzheimer disease have the pain of severe forgetfulness; the Safebit wearable will help remind them on their daily task for example: To take their medication on time and it will be done all through our voice feature. Furthermore, as we finish our first version prototype, we have thought of adding future features on helping seniors sharp their memory since the memory loss is a natural process. We are always looking for new ways to help the seniors on this specific subject, and our goal is to help seniors have a better quality of life through our wearable Safebit.

According to SeniorCare’ research, approximately 52% of seniors live alone in the USA. 11 million seniors who live alone in the U.S lost their partner, and they do not have anyone to take care of them. We have conducted over 60 interviews in our local senior center, senior home and learned that seniors who live alone have lots of trouble in seeking help in the case of an emergency. Most of the seniors do not trust caretakers, and 85% of our interviews hate the old fashion medical alert button because in some cases they do not want to end up in the hospital for something minor like a headache.
