With 6 million Science students enrolled across nearly 25,000 colleges around India, and barely 10% - 15% of the graduates considered to be employable, a minuscule fraction
of whom are entrepreneurial, things don't look promising!

We at SciTal are determined to correct this scenario, on the back of our insightful journey thus far. Our quest to bridge the disconnect led us to an extensive Industry survey and interviews which revealed Problem Solving, Troubleshooting and basic Communication and Career orientation skills and key gaps observed.

We responded by conducting Problem Solving workshops touching 1,500+ students, as well as Career workshops touching 3,000 students in collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC, UK). While these workshops were received very well, we figured that making them a part of the education system was a huge challenge. Our vision was to create Systemic, Scalable impact.

1. There is tremendous inertia amongst college faculty and administration to serve as agents of change.
2. Students are the biggest beneficiaries and need to be empowered with the ability to drive their own future. They are self motivated, but need a support system to guide them through the process.
3. Student clubs and Peer groups are very powerful given the 'combined energy' of a motivated group.

Basis the above insights, SciTal is developing 'myShakti', a one-stop Science Student Digital Platform which empowers Science students, to transition smoothly from college into the ‘real world’ by equipping them with ‘access’ and hand-holding in: 21st Century skilling, Career Preparation AND facilitation of jobs, internships & entrepreneurial pathways.

By empowering 'Student Clubs' as the 'Agents of Change' SciTal is paving the way for a systemic, self replicating model which leverages the intrinsic motivation of students to drive their futures.

At the heart of the myShakti platform is a 'Science Hackathon Engine' which enables both Practice Problems for skill building (Automated Hackathons) as well as Open innovations where students and student teams take up challenges from industry and other potential stakeholders.

The hackathon culture enables a basis for engagement with the broader ecosystem for projects, internships and jobs. In addition, the platform enables Career Prep and mentoring, Communication Skills and practice tests.
