SelfPay by Digital Retail Apps eliminates in-store checkout lines and offers a shop in-store, pay in-app solution for brick and mortar merchants and their shoppers. We offer two apps, one used by the shopper and one used by the store associate.
The first app, SelfPay, lets shoppers shop and pay from anywhere in store on their own mobile device. Shoppers scan and add items to their in-app cart, view product details, and then pay directly in-app. SelfPay supports payments made by credit cards, credit card-branded debit cards, PayPal or Apple Pay. Additional payment method support is constantly being added. Once a shopper completes their purchase in-app, they receive a barcoded in-app SelfPay receipt and the purchase can be verified with any staff member. The whole checkout process is as easy as “Scan. Pay. Go!” and resembles a mobile ecommerce transaction. The difference of course, is that shoppers shop for in-store goods and can leave with their items immediately after payment.

SelfPay Staff is our patented companion app, used by store associates. The first function of SelfPay Staff is to verify each consumer SelfPay purchase. The associate simply scans the shopper’s barcoded SelfPay receipt then visually inspects the receipt and shopper’s basket. The associate then verifies the purchase in SelfPay Staff and the receipt is invalidated for any additional verification scans. If the same receipt is scanned again, SelfPay Staff notifies the associate that the purchase has already been verified by an associate. This loss prevention and verification process is unique to SelfPay and is patented. SelfPay Staff also allows associates to build a cart for their shopper and to take payment by either credit card or ewallet on the associate's mobile device. SelfPay Staff payments do not require additional card reader or payments peripherals.
SelfPay uses Beacon technology to automatically detect which store a shopper is in and only displays that store’s branding, product details and available payment methods. The merchant can offer shoppers a wide selection of payment methods and can remain on their existing payment processor. SelfPay integrates with the merchant's POS and payments back end and does not force a change in payment processing. With SelfPay’s back end integration, all SelfPay transactions are written to the POS in real time, items are taken out of inventory and funds are posted to the merchant’s existing merchant account.
