We believe that in the same way that an athlete that goes to the gym does not need to completely replicate his surroundings to improve, neither does a medical student. What an athlete/student needs are the tools to target specific muscles to build and improve skills that later give him an edge in the field.

We build simulations that make medical students train, and more importantly to like training, to be able to measure their improvements and, through repetition, build those critical skills that will make them stronger professionals.

To fully support our objective of democratizing high quality medical education simulations, we've also assembled our own hardware simulator. The versatility, cost and potential reach of our SensusI challenges the market standards of any other similar offering in the market.

With critical mass and global user base we will gather the activity of expert surgeons from around the world, using the haptic device (force, angle, speed, etc) and VR (looking direction, attention, etc) data to build a good database of correct/incorrect procedures. Training data like this will help us build a Medical Procedure Model (deep/machine learning) that will correct the students’ performance with increasing accuracy, and could potentially be extrapolated to other bets like educating medical robots.

I am pleased to write this recommendation letter for this team. I got in contact with Sensus3D, earlier this year, when a friend of mine saw a newspaper article about them and made the introductions.

I have a medical background, plastic surgeon, and a global adviser for Johnson&Johnson. I split my time working at the Simulation Center located in the University of South California, medical conventions, and in Buenos Aires performing surgeries. From my experience at the simulation center, where we do many different kinds of medical capacitations through simulation, I have a good understanding of which simulators work and which don’t.

During one of my last stays in Buenos Aires, Sensus3D arranged a meeting with me and I was able to try the simulator hands on. The simulations Sensus3D demonstrated convinced me immediately of the value of what they had built. The simulator is elegant, and immersed you in a virtual world where the tactile feedback felt very real.
