We revolutionized the way ship retrofits and green energy conversions, as well as ship operation, are conceived, by developing algorithms and leapfrogging existing technologies and processes with state-of-the-art XR technologies, for enabling design automation in 3D space, as well as effective remote operations and training, resulting in massive environmental, cost and efficiency benefits, while minimizing traveling following travel restrictions.
Our first product is an MR remote support software that connects seafarers with experts in the office for remote ship operations and monitoring. It offers capabilities for remote automated placing / anchoring of (2D and 3D) data in ship physical spaces and machinery and linking VR and MR platforms through our immersive digital twin models with location-specific data and visualization (both onboard and in the office).
Our second product is an MR design automation software for ship modifications, a unique breakthrough with automated conversions of 2D into 3D optimal designs, utilizing an optimal pipe routing algorithm and an automatic component generation of connections. It is 10 X faster than anything else in the market, yielding thermodynamically optimized designs.
The seeds of ShipReality go back to the late 80’s, when our 2 cofounders Lambros and Georgios met as PhD students at Princeton University. Lambros is now the Vice Dean of Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering at NTUA, while Georgios spent 25 years in Wall Street. Our other two co-founders, Christos and Alexandros are also NTUA professors and together we uniquely combine marine engineering, geometrical modeling, and VR/MR ship design expertise with extensive US business experience.
