Since attending PE last year, I have pivoted my company, Sailo. I've spent the last 2 years developing an app that enabled users to buy what they "Like" on Instagram -- our vision was to create the go-to checkout system for social media. While we built a viable product from scratch, Instagram launched their own shoppable functionality.

It came time to decide, do we stay, or do we go? Were we surprised by Instagram's move? No. Were we crushed? Yes, a bit. But my co-founder and I are committed to this crazy, entrepreneurial journey, driven by the idea that two regular women can build something awesome together. So, we're developing Sailo 2.0. We've partnered with another startup, a licensing company that creates custom products for influencers (think: an eyeshadow palette for a makeup artist that became big through YouTube, with 3M+ subscribers; or t-shirts for a gamer with nearly 20M YouTube subscribers).
