Amazing things Shub's made
Unlocking Door With Facial Recognition.

As part of one week hackathon at Microsoft I built a Smart Door that could unlock based on facial recognition. The door used Microsoft's Oxford API for facial recognition and IoT core technology to control the door's locking mechanism.

The door was fitted with a camera that would capture the photos for anyone trying to unlock the door and if it the photo matched the whitelist then the door unlocked otherwise it would add the photo to the list of suspected unlockers for review.

The system could also pull profile photos from facebook to automatically add people to whitelist so that the user did not have to spend time uploading photos. User could simply select their facebook friends and add them to the whitelist.

I’ve known Chandini in a personal capacity for the past few years. One of my first interactions with her was when she talked about her career as a trader, and the business opportunity she saw in crowdsourcing trading. Ever since, I’ve been eagerly following her progress and it’s exciting to see her ideas coming to life.

While Fintech isn’t my forte, as a Techtars alum, I see Chandini’s qualities align well with those of successful Techstars founders. Her abilities to observe the market with a critical eye and get people excited around an idea show her to be a promising entrepreneur. I’m confident that she will be a strong member of the Techstars network, and will contribute to it while building Auquan.
