Sidekick uses AI to turn high school internships into in-class projects so students can learn subjects like Algebra while solving real problems side-by-side with real professionals.

Employers simply provide a job description.

Behind the scenes, Sidekick’s AI looks through the job description to find job responsibilities that make good tasks for in-class projects. When it finds one, it maps out a list of steps to take for the task. From the steps included, it creates a rubric that assesses students on both core content standards and 21st-century skills based on the work students do for the real-world task.

At the end of a project, Sidekick recommends which opted-in students the employer should invite to deeper engagements, such as internships or apprenticeships, based on student aptitude and interest. Over the course of students’ educational careers, Sidekick proactively updates employers on high-potential students to re-engage as students complete more projects and their interest and aptitude scores change.

By using Sidekick, teachers get ready-to-go, project-based lessons so they don’t have to start from scratch. Employers get to form relationships with diverse, local talent before students make up their minds on careers. Students get an answer to the question, “When am I ever going to use this?”
